Possible Side Effects
Like
all prescription products, Propecia may cause side effects. In clinical studies,
side effects from Propecia were not common and did not affect most men. A small
number of men experienced certain sexual side effects. Some of these men reported
less desire for sex; others had some difficulty in achieving an erection; and
others, a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred
in less than 2% of men. These side effects disappeared in men who stopped taking
Propecia. They also disappeared in most men who continued taking Propecia.
In general use, allergic reactions have been reported, including rash, itching,
hives and swelling of the lips and face; as well as problems with ejaculation;
breast tenderness and enlargement; and testicular pain.
Propecia lowers readings of the PSA screening test for prostate cancer. If
you're scheduled to have your PSA level checked, make sure the doctor knows you're
taking Propecia.
Tell your doctor promptly if you experiment these or any other unusual side
effects.
