PROPECIA®Propecia Information

Propecia is for men only. Women who are pregnant or may potentially be pregnant must avoid Propecia due to the drug's active ingredient relation to a specific kind of birth defect.

Even though clinical tests with Propecia showed that it was very well tolerated, do not use Propecia if it causes an allergic reaction, or if you've ever had an allergic reaction to Proscar.

For maximum benefit, take Propecia regularly once a day. If you stop taking Propecia, however, your results will gradually go away over 12 months.

--If you miss a dose... Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take 2 doses at the same time.

Keep closed in a dry place at room temperature away from moisture, preferrably in its original container.

Possible Side Effects

PROPECIA®Like all prescription products, Propecia may cause side effects. In clinical studies, side effects from Propecia were not common and did not affect most men. A small number of men experienced certain sexual side effects. Some of these men reported less desire for sex; others had some difficulty in achieving an erection; and others, a decrease in the amount of semen. Each of these side effects occurred in less than 2% of men. These side effects disappeared in men who stopped taking Propecia. They also disappeared in most men who continued taking Propecia.

In general use, allergic reactions have been reported, including rash, itching, hives and swelling of the lips and face; as well as problems with ejaculation; breast tenderness and enlargement; and testicular pain.

Propecia lowers readings of the PSA screening test for prostate cancer. If you're scheduled to have your PSA level checked, make sure the doctor knows you're taking Propecia.

Tell your doctor promptly if you experiment these or any other unusual side effects.

Possible Food and Drug Interactions

No significant drug interactions have been reported. It can be taken with or without food.
